PRODUCTION OPERATIVE (NIGHT SHIFT)

Status: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Shift allowance
Hours: 23:00 – 07:00 Sunday through to Thursday

Function as part of the production team demonstrating multi-skilled competencies in both print and mail production, to produce goods and work to meet customer specifications and agreed deadlines, maintaining quality standards and safe working.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Prioritise workload to meet SLAs
  • Operate machinery and equipment to the required standard
  • Observe and maintain quality standards at all times
  • Observe and maintain safety standards at all times
  • Liaise and communicate with other shifts to ensure a fluid handover

Print and Mail

  • Multitask in all areas of production
  • Responsible for all print production, machine enclosing and distribution of various marketing materials in a quality, timely and cost-effective manner
  • Set up machinery ensuring all production materials are available
  • Review print and materials from a production vendor to ensure consistency of ink, colour and overall quality
  • Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed

Service

  • Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties in a timely manner to minimise equipment downtime
  • Ensure all Production targets as set by Line Manager including Safety, Quality, Efficiency and SLAs are met
  • Work as part of a team whilst being resourceful and make independent decisions to complete tasks
  • To undertake other duties within the Manufacturing team and the wider business as deemed reasonable by the business

Quality

  • Understand and adhere to Opus Trust quality management systems appropriate to their tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
  • Visually inspect production run and document results
  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork associated with your tasks

Individual

  • Demonstrate good attention to detail for all tasks
  • Maintain a good standard of personal appearance
  • Be aware of, understand and adhere to company health and safety regulations
  • Be aware of and follow security procedures laid down by the company
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures
  • Undertake training to meet business requirements
  • Maintain a flexible approach to work to meet team-based work requirements
